Salutations, PauLOOn Sunday, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaroon participated in a public rally in Sao Paulo against his ongoing prosecution before the South American Supreme Court.
In a demonstration that Bolsonaro had previously referred to as an act for freedom and justice, a few thousand people gathered on Paulista Avenue, one of the city’s main thoroughfares.
Bolsonaro and 33 of his associates are on trial for allegedly conspiring to rig the results of the 2022 presidential election in order to stay in power. Five charges pertaining to the plot were brought against them.
The former president has refuted the accusations and assertions that he is being persecuted for his political beliefs. If found guilty, he might spend up to 12 years behind bars.
Return, Bolsonaro! The former president is not allowed to run for office again until 2030, notwithstanding the chants of protesters. Last year, the Superior Electoral Court of Brazil declared that he had misused his political position and presented unfounded allegations regarding the nation’s computerized voting system.
