MIAMIA — A 46-year-old convicted criminal was charged Monday in Miami-Dade County with two murders and one attempted murder.
According to jail records, Nathaniel Red Martin was at the Metrowest Detention Center and was charged in three different cases.
According to a recent arrest report from police, Martin shot and killed Javares A. Williamson on January 13, 2024, in Miami Gardens, over a gaming system and drugs.
Records indicate that prior to the early morning shooting at Northwest 209 Terrace and 34 Court, a witness claimed to have heard 36-year-old Williams pleading for his life.
A Taurus 709, a CZ P-10C, spent bullet casings, Shot Spotter data, and recordings of Martin’s jail calls were also used as evidence against him in the 2024 murder, according to the papers.
According to court documents, Martin was charged by prosecutors on January 15, 2024, with possessing a weapon by a convicted felon and possessing a controlled narcotic by the Miami Gardens Police Department. On Monday, it was still pending.
Martin was arrested by Miami Gardens police on February 25 and again at Metrowest on July 3 for the 2024 murder, according to an arrest report.
Three active cases and three warrant cases were included in Miami-Dade County jail records; however, no public information regarding further victims was available at this time.
According to inmate records, there were pending prosecutions for criminal mischief, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, first-degree attempted murder with a dangerous weapon, and written threats to kill or cause bodily harm.
The second pending case involved the use of a firearm while committing a felony, armed burglary, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, and first-degree murder during a robbery. Second-degree murder was the subject of the third ongoing case.
Three warrant cases were also reported. Two were for the U.S. Marshals Service and another agency’s holds. The other was for two charges of possession of a controlled substance, trespassing on property after being warned, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
