Place a banana in your serving bowl after slicing it open lengthwise. Put two or three scoops of your ice cream on top. Add chocolate and strawberry sauces on top of the ice cream. Add a cherry (or several), toasted nuts, and a heaping dollop of whipped cream on top!
Regarding the Chocolate Sauce:

Six ounces of finely chopped bittersweet chocolate
Light corn syrup, one cup
One cup of water
One cup of sugar, granulated
This is one cup (ounces) of cocoa powder.
Two tablespoons of butter without salt

One teaspoon of vanilla extract
Put all the ingredients for the chocolate sauce in a medium pot. excluding the extract of vanilla. Melt the butter and chocolate by cooking over medium-low heat. Raise the heat to medium and continue to cook, stirring often, for three more minutes. Take off the heat and add the vanilla. Before serving, allow it cool somewhat.
Fresh Strawberry Sauce:
One pound of cored strawberries that have been cut in half or quartered
-juice and zest from 1 lemon
One cup of sugar, granulated
-1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
-1 tablespoon cornstarch
-3 tablespoons warm water
Combine strawberries, lemon zest and juice, sugar and the vanilla bean pods and seeds. Stir to combine. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and warm water. Add the cornstarch slurry to the pot.
Cook over low to medium heat, stirring often, until the sauce has big glazy bubbles and the strawberries are starting to break apart. Remove from heat, cool and store in your refrigerator in an airtight container.
