To combat common frauds, the Broward Sheriff’s Office is hosting an educational event specifically for the elderly community.
BSO has announced that the Tamarac Community Center, located at 8601 West Commercial Boulevard, will host a Senior Safety Summit on Saturday, June 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The goal of the summit is to provide seniors with the information and resources they need to defend themselves against the growing danger of frauds.
A wide range of subjects will be covered at the event, such as the most recent scams that target seniors, helpful advice on identifying and avoiding them, and what to do if one thinks they have been the victim of a scam.
Attendance to the summit is free. There will be light refreshments provided.
Deputy Jennifer Marion can be reached by phone at 954-247-6016 or by email at [email protected] for additional details on the event.
