James Loubeau, 37, pleaded guilty to two counts of abusive sexual contact earlier this year and was given a sentence of 60 months in jail and 20 months of supervised release, according to authorities.
The allegations were related to an event that happened at Royal Air Force Mildenhall in Suffolk, England, in 2019.
Loubeau acknowledged in his plea that he had sexually assaulted the victim on May 4, 2019, while he was on base.
Investigators said Loubeau and the victim had spent the evening drinking at a tavern on base. With a friend’s assistance, the obviously drunk victim went back to her on-base quarters and went to bed by herself.
According to the prosecution, the victim woke up at around 2:30 a.m. to see Loubeau on top of her in bed.
She reportedly called two friends right away to inform them that she had been raped.
According to officials, surveillance footage later showed Loubeau leaving her room and going back to his dorm.
Investigators found that Loubeau was connected to the assault by DNA evidence and that a medical evaluation showed injuries compatible with sexual contact.
According to them, Loubeau left the Air Force in March 2020.
Prior to being sent to federal detention, Loubeau was detained at a Broward County jail facility after being first charged in April.
