LondonHighest rankedAt Centre Court on Thursday, Jannik Sinner defeated Australian Aleksandar Vukic 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 to advance to Wimbledon’s third round.
Sinner saved all four break points he faced, finished the one-hour, forty-minute match with 38 wins and just 11 unforced errors.
The three-time Grand Slam champion will play Spain’s 52nd-ranked Pedro Martinez on Saturday.
The only major tournament that Sinner has not advanced to the final is Wimbledon; he lost in the All England Club semifinals in 2023.
He finished second to Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open last month, won the Australian Open the previous two years, and won the U.S. Open last September. Before Alcaraz rallied to win, Sinner had three championship points after winning the opening two sets of that final.
